Repairs & Alterations

To help keep your jewellery in excellent condition we recommend that you schedule for it to be cleaned at Lanes at least once a year. This will allow us to check for signs of damage or wear and tear & suggest a suitable repair before it becomes a serious problem.

If a treasured piece of jewellery becomes damaged we can offer a first class repair service.

Lanes can carry out complete restorations of favourite pieces.

Engraving

providing the personal touch

Traditional Seal Engraving

Traditionally Seal Engraving is the practice used when engraving family crests or coat of arms onto signet rings. Seal engraving is undertaken by an extremely skilled craftsman & is done by hand.

The engraving is three dimensional, leaving a very detailed carving of the crest or coat of arms. Every engraving is unique, which displays wonderful detail and artistic skill. The signet ring was historically used to seal letters and documents with a wax.

Hand Engraving

Various styles are available on request, Our most common use is monogram initials on a signet ring or dates & messages inside wedding bands, to make them extra personal.

This traditional method of engraving is all done by our fair skilled hands.
